Week 2 in the saddle

Posted by Bold Apps on

It seems only yesterday that I was writing a post about my first week; and here we are at the end of my second. The shelves are fuller now, with a wide range of Field Notes books and accessories leading the way. Rhodia has made its first appearance, with the pocket version of the famous Webbie. Oh that paper... There are a few writing instruments on the site now too. The synergy between notebooks and writing implements is obvious. I have started with my 'Every Day Carry' - a rough, tough and macho Brass Kaweco Sport and some of its...

Papio Press Review - by Amanda Fleet

Posted by Bold Apps on

Last week we started stocking a range of notebooks by Papio Press. I asked my friend and writing mentor, Dr Amanda Fleet, to review them. Amanda is in some ways, the reason that I'm here. She awoke my dormant interest in all things stationery a year or so ago. She has a superb blog over at http://paperpensink.blogspot.co.uk on all things stationery and planning. A published author, Amanda also blogs at http://amandafleet.co.uk (Her thriller, 'The Wrong Kind of Clouds', is a great read!) The review below was originally published on 'Paperpensink'. Amanda doesn't do things by halves... Enjoy!! Stuart. Tigers by Papio Press...

What does this button do? Never, ever, has that question led to something good. Thus far, anything that I have broken, I have managed to fix again. There is now a delivery charge on UK orders of less than £13.50. On smaller orders, the postman was the only one making any money. Naturally, it's easily avoided, just put another pack in the basket. :-) Apart from not trying to break anything, this week has been all about ordering stock. Tony and Dan have been finishing off the last of the January subscription boxes, and the last ones will be going...

...And its Hello from me

Posted by Bold Apps on

It’s like the first day at a new school. Everywhere I look, things to learn and understand. A web interface, an accounts package, payment gateways, a bunch of suppliers, where to begin? I start where Dan and Tony started; with you, the most important people of all, the customers.  Once I have some handle on all the technology, my first order of business is to get stocked up. Already on the way are two notebooks new to the site, which should be available at the end of the week. Later today, I will be speaking to all the amazing suppliers...

Goodnight from Me and Goodnight from Him

Posted by Tony Short on

It comes with a heavy heart that Dan and I are writing our final blog post as owners of Pocket Notebooks as we announce the acquisition of the business by a new UK business. We’ve had nothing but enjoyment and pleasure starting and growing this business over the past 18 months. What started out as a site for Field Notes has quickly established itself as the specialists for all pocket sized notebooks; a site brave enough to introduce new brands to UK and Europe, and one constantly thriving to provide excellent customer service. With that said, Pocket Notebooks reached an...
