Nero's Notes — Month Report

First Quarter

Posted by Stuart Lennon on

April is drawing to an end. Easter has been and gone. Winter went, then returned, went again, returned again and now finally seems banished. Pocketnotebooks became Nero’s Notes, Stuart revised his planning system at least twice and found another way to hear his own voice - on 1857.The Trigg Life-Mapper was a big hit and Nomad notes took off like a scalded cat.We continue to work the website, focused on improved navigation and imagery. Its been a learning experience for Clare and Stuart, but both can now open Adobe without actually breaking anything. There’s still a way to go, but we’re...

2017 - The Year that was.

Posted by Stuart Lennon on

2017 The Year that was In January 2017, we finalised the deal that would result in me taking over Pocket Notebooks. There were several calls as the mechanics and details got worked out. I took an office (well, a converted meeting room) in Ludgershall, Wiltshire. A fifteen minute drive from home. Suddenly, as of the first of February, I was on my own. Hey there. After a record May, June was looking quiet. Then we had a birthday weekend sale. Wow. That got busy, quick. I'm not a parent (Nero doesn't count) but it seems this really is a thing. We are brilliantly placed to provide a range of spend levels for...

Hey there. Me again. What do you think of the purple? It's taking over the world. As well as the colour, the site has been tweaked a little, and we continue to make changes. The aim is to improve ease of navigation and create a more consistent look. Any and all feedback gratefully received. May was a record month. Yay! May the 9th is now Medcalf Day at Pocket Notebooks. A cracking order.  What's new?  The 'Big Pockets' range is growing, with Field Notes getting in on the action. Pitch Black 4-3/4 by 7-1/2 is flying off the shelves. New...

Month 2 Report

Posted by Stuart Lennon on

Pocket Notebooks is now a division of Google. April Fool! Only kidding, Pocket Notebook Towers remains steadfastly 'indie'.  I loved the April Fool from Paperoh, who posted an ad on instagram of their new 'dot-grid paint.' You guys see any good ones? Two months in. I can't say that Nero and I are experts yet, but we are getting the hang of it. 200+ products are in stock, including some completely new lines. Alongside the powerhouse brands of Field Notes, Word, Moleskine and Clairefontaine, we have some wonderful books from Story Supply, Public Supply, Rhodia, Playtype and Whitelines. I am...
