What they say:
“The Public - Supply mission is simple: to support creative work in our country's public schools. Whether students are painting, acting, singing, writing, or coding, we believe that creativity helps students become more engaged in the classroom, at home, and in the world.
Smaller budgets and an increasing emphasis on standardized test scores have lead to cuts in the resources devoted to the creative arts at both a national and local level. Talented, committed teachers often don’t have the materials they need for simple art projects -- stuff like blank paper, paintbrushes, and markers -- and some schools have had to cut entire departments. Public - Supply works to provide materials where they're needed and bring together creative thinkers to create a community that supports our schools.
Public - Supply is a for-profit company that channels 25% of net profits to high need classrooms focused on creativity. A full list of the classrooms funded so far is posted on our Classrooms page. If you have any additional questions about our donations, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
Now you know.
What are the notebooks like? They’re lovely.
48 Pages of Dot or Ruled Paper, FSC Certified, Rainforest Alliance Certified, Acid Free, 10% Post Consumer Waste (Recycled Content).
The notebooks are printed in New Jersey and come stocked with rich 60# natural cream paper. The binding is sewn.
The paper really shines for me, with graphite, but is lovely with gel pens too. It handles fine/dry fountain pens, but maybe leave your music nib for another notebook.
We have a wide-range of colours in US pocket size, and we have some larger ones, with embossing, on the way.
Remember, forget the app, there’s a pocket notebook for that...
