I like big books...
... and I cannot lie.
Nero started out as Pocket Notebooks (remember those days?) and when Stu asked me to be a reviewer/blogger I wondered how many tiny notebooks I would end up with, when (for me) a small notebook is A5. Maybe B6 at a push.
So imagine my delight when a fantastically BIG notebook arrived from Clare for me! The Leuchtturm A4 Hard Back Master.
Not just A4... A4+ Master
31.5 cm x 22.5 cm (I had to get my bigger tape-measure out for it!), 100 gsm paper. The book is big enough to slide A4 sheets in without folding them or them getting dog-eared by hanging out the side.
There are two table of content pages, followed by an un-numbered lined page, then 123 numbered pages, with space at the top to note the date. There are two ribbon bookmarks, a sheet of self-adhesive labels (3 that can be used to label the spine of the book and three that could be used to label the front. One of the 3 for the front is unlined; the other 2 have 3 lines). There's also a pocket in the back cover that is big enough to hold A4 sheets unfolded. There is no pen-loop, but there are plenty to be had at Nero's.
The only disadvantage I can see is that the ruling in the lined notebook might be a tad narrow for some of you, clocking in at 6mm (assuming you have enough desk-space for the book, of course!). There are 46 lines per page, with quite a wide outer margin of 25mm.
For those without German (or Google translate), "Denken mit der Hand" is "Think with your hands" which is a decent way of describing writing, really. And indeed, on the back of the label, it has:
Writing by hand is thinking on paper. Thoughts grow into words, sentences and pictures. Memories become stories. Ideas are transformed into projects. Notes inspire insight. We write and understand, learn, see and think - with the hand.
Which is pretty much what we all say on here - whether it's about the benefits of journaling, or how I plan a book, or stationery for self-care.
This is a really lovely notebook, but I do recognise that it might be a smidge big for some of you. Fear not, a huge range of Leuchtturm notebooks have just landed at Nero's, so there will be something for everyone! There are Bullet Journals, B5, B6, A5, A6 (ish... narrower than true A6), hard covers, soft covers, dot-grids, blank, lined, squared, red, yellow, black, green, blue, lilac... Check out the range here.
As I say... something for everyone!
